Planning a downtown Nashville wedding is a dream come true for so many couples. Making that wedding come to life is magical! Let me tell you that Corrine and Zacharey were the most dedicated bride and groom in making sure that their Nashville wedding was one of a kind. Their wedding day gave way for me to really dive into the fine art photography that I truly love to offer my clients.
The big day started with the bridal party getting prepared in two of the most gorgeous suites at the Lowes Vanderbilt Hotel on Nashville’s west end. Each suite had wonderful lighting and neutral colors that portrait photography craves. The energy in the room was so warm and vibrant with smiles all around. Right away I could see that Corrine and Zacharey surrounded themselves with a tightly knit group of family and friends to be with them in these special moments. When the bridal parties were dressed, we ventured outside and on to a quick but refreshing stroll right on to the Vanderbilt University campus. Walking to the chapel for a wedding was such a pure and unforgettable moment!
Zacharey and Corrine met here at Vanderbilt where they both attended school. This is the place where it all started, where they kindled a relationship, where they walked together as students, and where they fell in love. It seemed only fitting to begin their life together as one at Benton Chapel at Vanderbilt. The Chapel itself commands a certain attention with its beautiful architecture, stone steps and stained glass windows (just to name a few details). There seemed to be a calming and peaceful energy around everyone there as we took advantage of this beautiful June day. With the magnolias in full bloom, the happy couple walked throughout the grounds of the University outside of the Chapel. It was as if no else was there, like it was just the two of them hand in hand once again on the same campus where they had walked together a hundred times before. Only this time it was different.
Keeping with the spirit of having a true downtown wedding, the celebration carried over into one of Nashville’s favorite Broadway spots, Acme Feed and Seed. And what better way for the bridal party to arrive to the reception than on a party bus! You read that right. As a Nashville wedding photographer I’ve had lots of firsts, but a stylish party bus arrival takes the cake. Yet this was only the beginning of an unforgettable reception and an unforgettable night. A live band welcomed guests to Acme’s rooftop bar for a fun filled cocktail hour. There were so many great rooftop moments that Corrine and Zacharey got to take in along with family, friends, old college roomates and fraternity brothers. Togetherness was the word of the evening as the celebration continued in a stunning reception area where an amazing buffet of delicious favorites were waiting for the guests. Speeches were made, music was playing, and the dancing never stopped. Corrine and Zacharey gave everyone a celebration to remember. I’m certain that they keep the memories of this day as close to them as those quiet walks where it all began. Congratulations to you Zacharey and Corrine! And thank you for the memories.
